Welcome to BOKA. An award-winning NYC architecture firm creating sophisticated residences across the country.
This complex interior renovation in New York City involved combining three apartments across two separate floors to create a spacious four-bedroom duplex on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. For this family home, BOKA developed a new floor plan and layout featuring a striking circular spiral staircase that connects the two levels.
In keeping with the UWS neighborhood and the building’s era, BOKA designed interior details that include classic pre-war style millwork, wall paneling, and custom wrought iron stair railings and balustrades. The expansive great room serves dual purposes: it is both a formal living area for entertaining and a media room for family activities.
The elegant open kitchen and dining area are designed for maximum functionality. Custom cabinetry, top-of-the-line appliances, and a central island streamline meal preparation, while banquette seating accommodates large family gatherings in the dining space. Throughout the apartment, smart storage solutions are abundant, featuring multiple custom built-ins and a spacious primary master walk-in closet.
